The South met the full fury of the Dutch professional Jan Balk in the first innings and were put out for 93, Balk taking 5 wickets for 64 runs. The North amassed a match wining total of 338 with Kirschbaum and Alex Ferguson making half the runs. Jan Balk batted well also making 41 and fully deserved the man of the match award. Facing a deficit of 243 runs the South batted stoutly next time round and a partnership of 105 for the second wicket by M.Paterlini and Martin Siri was a feature of the innings.Bernard Irigoyen made 63 and Billy MacDermott 52 the final total being 399. With 154 to win Kirschbaum was out at 21 but Murray Davis and Alex Ferguson made 135 for the second wicket at five an over to win the match.
