The South won the toss again and made good use of the wicket Tony Ferguson compiling yet another century with 14 x 4's and 2 x 6's. Well supported by Malcolm Gibson the pair put on 146 for the first wicket, Gibson making 58 with 7 x 4's and a six. After their allotted 100 overs the score stood at 296 for seven wickets. For the North Alan Morris and Douglas Ker bowled very well and between them bowled over half the overs. In reply an ignominious collapse by the top order batsmen saw the North six wickets down for 7 runs. However the 'tail' played up valiantly and with two partnerships of over 50 took the score to 141. With a lead of 155 the South did not enforce the follow on and scored 145 for four wickets before declaring with M.Gibson 6 x 4's in his 54 adding 74 for the second wicket with R.Kirton. North, with 301 runs to win, were ousted by grand bowling again from Douglas Annand who had a match aggregate of seven wickets for 93 runs.
