The match was drawn with Glamorgan winning on first innings. The match between the two sides at Trowbridge the previous week had been won by Glamorgan by an innings and 155 runs. Rain delayed the start on the second day until 1.00pm and the Glamorgan second innings finished at 4.20pm leaving Wiltshire to get 217 in 2 hours to win. For the home side there were 11 fours in Bancroft's 85. Maxwell took 5 wickets for 63 runs in Wiltshire's first innings and Hacker took 5 wickets for 21 runs in their second. For the visitors Newman top-scored with 42.
Overton took 8 wickets for 102 runs in the match whilst Davenport took 3 catches. The Western Mail reported for the Glamorgan second innings that "some truly magnificent catches were made, three being of superlative merit, those of MacBryan, Pinfield, and Newman, and the greatest of the three was Newman's delightful dismissal of R A Gibbs."
