Hertfordshire won this match by eight wickets on the second day after Bedfordshire followed on 206 runs behind on first innings. For the winners there were 13 fours in Titchmarsh's 91, 14 fours in Marsh's 91 and 6 fours in Household's 80. Shelford took 5 wickets for 63 runs in the Bedfordshire first innings. In the Hertfordshire first innings, Titchmarsh and Golding put on 158 runs for the second wicket, and Marsh and Shelford 50 runs for the ninth wicket. For the losers, Holdstock scored 66 and Orr 51. In the Hertfordshire first innings Pestell took 6 wickets for 179 runs.
