This return match was won by Staffordshire at 12.35 pm on the second day by an innings and 144 runs, after Lincolnshire followed on 193 runs behind on first innings. The match between the two sides at Grantham in July had also been won by Staffordshire. For the winners, Barnes and Deyes bowled unchanged through both innings. Barnes took 10 wickets in the match for 43 runs and Deyes 10 for 49. There were 5 fours in Nichols's 58. For the losers, Riley took 6 wickets in the Staffordshire innings for 50 runs. Day scored 20 not out and Worman 20 with 5 fours.
