This card comes from the Minor Counties Research Project - research is continuing on this scorecard which can be expected to change.
Cornwall won by an innings and 182 runs soon after 3.00 pm on the second day, after the visitors followed on 362 runs behind. The margin of victory was the second highest of the season. For the winners, Tresawna's 101 took 2½ hours. W N Bickford-Smith scored 99, and Trevarthen 78. In the Cornwall innings these two batsmen put on 154 runs for the first wicket. For the losers, J C Rees scored 72. In the Carmarthenshire second innings, Morgan and Hughes Morgan added 54 runs for the seventh wicket. Doubts about the wicket, arising from the earlier match on the ground versus Devon in July that was completed in a day, were dispelled, and the Cornwall total of 443 was their highest in the competition.
