Devon won this return match by 108 runs at 6.00 pm on the second day. The match between the two sides at Camborne the previous week had also been won by Devon. For the winners, there15 fours and 7 fours respectively in Shelley's two innings of 91 and 52. Orchard's 71 contained 8 fours, and Hooman's 54 9 fours. In the Devon first innings Shelley and Hawksworth added 130 runs for the sixth wicket. For the losers, Whiting took 10 wickets in the match for 177 runs. Lubbock's 78 not out included 12 fours, Coad's 68 8 fours, and Bickford-Smith's 65 10 fours. In the Cornwall second innings Coad and Bickford-Smith put on 101 runs for the fifth wicket, and in the first innings Lubbock and Brewer added 53 for the eighth wicket. Coad kept wicket for Cornwall in the Devon second innings.
