For the winners, there were 11 fours, 10 threes and 11 twos in Harrison's 131. Cruwys's 52 contained 6 fours. For the losers, there were 8 fours in Disney-Roebuck's 64. The 163 runs conceded by Stacey were the joint highest in an innings during the season. A collection on the first day yielded £3 17s for Aston's benefit. N B Udal withdrew from the Dorset team at the last minute because of a shoulder injury. Manfield took his place and batted in the second innings.
