Norfolk won this match by eight wickets at 6.15 pm on the second day. Norfolk in their second innings had been set a victory target of 84 in just under an hour, but secured the runs in 45 minutes amid reported scenes of great excitement. There were several rain interruptions on the first day, with only two hours of cricket played. There was no cricket beyond 3.20 pm after a thunderstorm flooded the ground, and play was abandoned for the day at 4.00 pm. For the winners, Smith took 12 wickets in the match for 89 runs, including 7 for 49 in the Cambridgeshire first innings. Barratt scored 58 not out with 9 fours, and Cozens-Hardy 54 not out. For the losers, Bristowe made the highest score with 44 not out. Worman is reported as having been handicapped by a strained leg.
