This match was drawn with Staffordshire winning on first innings. For the home team, there were 11 fours in Brown's 120, an innings of 3½ hours. Meakin scored 52. Brown and Meakin added 148 runs for the fifth wicket. Suffolk were dismissed before lunch for 34 in an hour and 10 minutes, with Barnes and Mee bowling unchanged. Barnes took 5 wickets for just 6 runs. On the first day, rain delayed the start for an hour. When it became clear no play would be possible on the second day, the game was abandoned at 3.00 pm.
