Drawn return match with Wiltshire winning on first innings. The match between the two sides when they met at Salisbury in July had been won by Wiltshire. Rain stopped play on the first day at 5.00 pm, when the Wiltshire score was 14 for no wicket, but resumed again with Wiltshire reaching 60-0 when stumps were drawn. For the visitors, there was 1 five, 17 fours and 4 threes in Perkins's 135.
Luce scored 67 and Snell 50. In the Wiltshire innings Perkins and Luce are reported as having put on over 150 for the first wicket. For the home team, Golding scored 125, an innings containing 13 fours. White made 80. The four catches held by Luce and the six dismissals in Hertfordshire first innings were the most in an innings during the season. [All the reports in the newspapers listed that give batsman close of play scores incorrectly give 14 for no wicket with Perkins scoring 8 not out and Luce 6 not out.]
