Norfolk won this return match by six wickets at 5.20 pm on the second day, after being 77 runs behind on first innings and having a victory target in their second innings of 216 runs in over 4½ hours. The game between the two sides at Ipswich the previous week had been won by Suffolk. For the winners, Raikes scored 79 not out with 10 fours and Dunning 51. In the Norfolk second innings, Raikes and Barratt had an unbroken stand of 62 runs in 27 minutes for the fifth wicket. Worman took 9 wickets in the match for 68 runs. His 28 maidens in the match were the equal second highest of the season. For Suffolk, Mustard's 49 included 8 fours. Smith was called away after the Suffolk first innings to the "death-bed of his little son".
Quaife fielded as substitute for him on the first day and on the second the Suffolk Captain "allowed him to be replaced by A L Kennaway".
This means that twelve players are counted as having played for Norfolk during this match.
