Yorkshire 2nd XI won by 27 runs on the second day. For the winners, there were 11 fours in Rudston's 72 and 8 fours in Crowther's 58. In the Durham second innings Oyston took 7 wickets for 57 runs. For the losers, Turnbull took 12 wickets in the match for 138 runs, including 7 for 84 in the Yorkshire first innings. He also scored 64 not out which contained 9 fours. In the Durham first innings, Turnbull and Thackeray added 59 runs for the tenth wicket and, in the second innings for the same wicket, Smith and Thackeray added 50 runs. Well over 3000 spectators were reported as being present on the second day.
