With rain preventing any play after lunch on the first day, this return match was drawn, as had been the earlier encounter at Bishop's Stortford in July. The Hertfordshire declaration set the home team a victory target of 131 runs in an hour. For Hertfordshire, there were 5 fours in White's 50. In the Norfolk first innings, Barratt and Leman put on 59 runs for the eighth wicket, after the first seven wickets had fallen for 34. When dismissing Wilders in the Hertfordshire first innings, Shore took his two hundredth wicket in championship matches.
