After an absence of four years, Bedfordshire made their re-appearance in the Championship. Requiring 97 runs for victory in their second innings in two hours, Surrey 2nd XI won by nine wickets shortly before 6.00pm on the second day. For the victors, Wilson scored 79, A Baker 71 and Penfold 56 not out. In the Surrey first innings, Walker and Penfold put on 55 runs for the seventh wicket. For Bedfordshire, T A Brown's 97 was the top score in the match and included 12 fours and 8 threes. A collection was taken for him that yielded over £4.
