This rain-interrupted return match ended as a draw. The encounter between the two teams at Cardiff in July had been won by Glamorgan. Rain prevented play on the first day before 2.30 pm, and there was no play at all on the second, with the match being abandoned after lunch. For Glamorgan, there was 1 six and 9 fours in Bancroft's 80 and 11 fours in Jones's 60. In the Glamorgan innings Jones and Bancroft put on 110 runs for the first wicket. P C Phillips kept wicket for Monmouthshire when Mayes bowled. Shortly after the Glamorgan score passed one hundred, Hutchings hurt his leg and left the field. Creber acted initially as the substitute fielder.
No details of the Glamorgan bowling analysis have been found in the sources listed. The analysis given has been derived from the published averages and the newspaper match accounts which detail order of bowling.
