For the winners, there were 17 fours, 8 threes and 8 twos in Thompson's 134, an innings which lasted 3 hours and 40 minutes. T A Brown's 77 was scored in 90 minutes and included 1 five and 10 fours. In the Northamptonshire innings, Thompson and Brown put on 140 runs for the fifth wicket, which was the highest partnership for that wicket during the season.
