Buckinghamshire secured their third successive victory at around 3.00 pm on the second day, after Oxfordshire followed on 148 runs behind. For the winners there were 15 fours, 5 threes and 8 twos in de Paravicini's 108 not out. In the Buckinghamshire innings, de Paravicini and Allcock put on 72 runs for the eighth wicket. Nash and Wright bowled unchanged through both Oxfordshire innings, the former taking 11 wickets in the match for 101 runs, and the latter 8 for 67. Once again, some match reports referred critically to the deterioration of the pitch on the second day.
