Rain delayed the start of the match until 1.30pm on the first day and the players left the field just before 3pm when the rain returned so an early afternoon tea adjournment was taken
Rain forced the players to leave the field again 20 minutes after play had resumed following the tea break and no more play was possible on the first day
On the second day rain sent the players from the field at 4.30pm and the match had to be abandoned
K Lindsay (Southland) umpired only on the first day with EW Proctor taking over from him on the second day
The combined team was made up of 3 players from Central Otago (Buttar, McKnight, Morgan), 5 from North Otago (Cartwright, Ellis, Papps, Sandri, White) and 3 from Southland (Alabaster, McEwan, Sharp)
