Several of the New Zealand Women's players were struck down with a stomach bug overnight which forced three changes from the side that won the opening Twenty20 the previous day. HR Huddleston, FC Leydon-Davis and SRH Curtis all came in for their first Women's International Twenty20 match replacing SJ McGlashan, FL Mackay and ML Green. SW Bates was also hit by the bug but recovered in time to play, although she handed over the captaincy to SFM Devine for this match.
