Attendance: 22,608
Richards, who was dropped twice, and Austin added 95 runs in 73 minutes.
The initial World Series Cricket programme included a number of matches for Adelaide but the Woodville Council refused to allow cricket to be played on the basis the ground was reserved for Australian Football. The South Australian Government stepped in and this one match was arranged after all previously scheduled matches had been cancelled.
