Match notes
Once again the only match played by the Queensland Colts team was the annual contest with New South Wales Colts for the Sydney Gregory Cup. On this occasion New South Wales was able to win the game outright late on the final day and so retain the prized trophy. However removing the splendid effort of Aaron O'Brien from the New South Wales first innings the game was much more even. O'Brien has proved a consistent thorn in the side of several Queensland teams over the years with a string of quite large scores. Bad light ended play at 5.38 p.m. on the first day. Due to an injury NJ Rimmington withdrew from the selected Queensland Colts team and was replaced by GJ Sullivan.
