Match notes
ML Hayden who had previously appeared for the Queensland Under 17 in 1988-89, for Queensland Under 19 and for Queensland Colts in this season, and had recently made his sole appearance to date for Queensland Second XI, was making his first appearance for a representative Queensland team. In partnership with PW Anderson 89 runs were added, a partnership that most certainly saved Queensland from defeat. The attendance for the match was estimated at about 200.
