All sources give the WCC team with amateurs at the top. The rest of the batting order in WCC (2) is not known. On day 1 Aylward batted from 11am to just after 6pm. Hawkins, the umpire, is probably the Odiham player, nominated by the Hambledon Club as organiser of the England side, so the other umpire is probably R Lawrence, nominated by WCC.
Other versions differ quite widely, especially in WCC (2), but the above is largely based on the score in the World, which is the most complete that has been discovered and is consistent with close of play details from other sources. However, the World has England (1) adding up 2 short with Amherst 18; other versions give Amherst 20 and this has been accepted even though it means mixing sources. The World also says that England won by 266 runs but if the team totals are correct the margin was 265.
