• Strauss batted excellently and scored his second century of the Test match when he turned Zaheer through the mid-wicket and scored that all important single. With the century he became the 63rd Test batsman and 10th Englishman to score a century in each innings of a Test match.

 

• The last Englishman to compile a twin century in a Test was his former opening partner Marcus Trescothick against West Indies in 2004 at Birmingham and the last Englishman to perform this feat against India was Graham Gooch which included his phenomenal 333 at Lord's.

 

• The last batsman to perform this feat against India was Aravinda de Silva in 1997 at Sinhalese Sports Club Ground, Colombo and the last batsman to perform this feat against India in India was ironically the present India coach Gary Kirsten in 1996 at Eden Gardens in Calcutta (now Kolkata).

 

• The last batsman to achieve this feat was Jacques Kallis in 2007/08 against Pakistan at National Stadium, Karachi

 

• The last Indian to perform this feat was Rahul Dravid, which was against Pakistan in 2005 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
