Colne have signed South African Blake Snijman as their professional for the 2008 season.

Right hander Snijman opens the batting for Lions back home in South Africa and he has averaged 30.1 in scoring 1987 First-class runs from 38 matches since his debut for Gauteng in 2004. His right arm medium paced bowling has secured 15 wickets at 20.3 with a best of 4-26.
The 22 year-old has played in the Derbyshire League and notched one previous Lancashire League appearance as sub professional for Nelson in 2005 when he scored 52 and took 1-18 in a 5 wicket win at Ramsbottom.
The signing, which was announced at Colne's AGM on Thursday evening, means that just three clubs are still to finalize their paid men for 2008.
