According to late reports, Younis immediately decided to return home. A Cricket Australia spokesman was reported by AFP as saying that Younis was shattered and would be taking the first available flight home.
In this crucial match against Australia he was included in the Pakistan side as a wicketkeeper and No. 3 batsman replacing regular wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal.
Pakistan will play the West Indies on 1st February in what has turned out to be essentially a semifinal to decide which team will play Australia in the best of three finals.(Article: Copyright © 2005 Pakistan Cricket Board)
