Alex Jones made his Glamorgan debut in 2010, with the left-arm swing bowler appearing against Somerset in the Clydesdale Bank40 match against Somerset at Taunton. The following season, he made his County Championship debut and also opened the bowling for the Welsh Dragons in the Friends Life t20.
