The washout at Vizag robbed India and New Zealand of a meaningful workout, but both teams will have chance for one more crack at each other before the World T20 championship kicks off a week from now in Sri Lanka. Locking horns in the second T20I of the series, it gives both teams the last chance to figure out their best combinations for the big tournament ahead.

 

The match will also highlight the comebacks of several distinguished players including the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Daniel Vettori, Jacob Oram and Kyle Mills. Yuvraj is expected to be the star of the evening as he will be cheered by fans following his successful recovery from cancer.

 

The hosts have been in good form and have a realistic chance to complete their dominance in the series. Containing the most dangerous of batting lineups, the Men in Blue would try their trusted opening combination of Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag, followed by a power-packed middle-order including Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni.

 

New Zealand is also desperately waiting for the match to go for a win, if so, they would probably bag a lot of confidence heading into the World T20 Championship. The visitors may hold an edge statistically having won all their three T20 ties against India, but the hosts will still start as favourites after their 2-0 sweep in the Test series.

 

Later reports again say there are clouds around stadium but the chances for rain are less.
