| Scorecard: | New Zealand v South Africa |
| Event: | ICC World Cup 2010/11 |
DateLine: 27th March 2011
What a stunning victory when the underdogs, New Zealand put away the mighty South African's in their quarterfinal encounter of World Cup 2011.

New Zealand was able to post a decent score thanks to Jesse Ryder who played a vital knock despite the failure of the Kiwi openers who failed to capitalise on a good wicket. Ryder made amends by playing a sheet anchor role in which he was alert to run-scoring opportunities on the off-side. He played his shots over point and sweeper cover with utmost ease.
When South Africa batted Jacob Oram bowled a magical spell by claiming four wickets which included the scalp of dangerous South African skipper Graeme Smith. Oram also took a brilliant catch to dismiss Jacques Kallis and thus destroyed Proteas' hopes of entering the semis of this dition of the World Cup.(Article: The opinions expressed in this article are those of the author only.
