Air India Blue powered itself to the final of Sahara BCCI Corporate Trophy 2009/10 to set up an all Air India final. They will meet Yuvraj Singh led-Air India Red on 8th of September. Air India Blue defeated an insipid looking Tata Sport Club by five wickets via VJD Method.

 

Air India blue had won the toss and elected to field first. Tata Sports Club openers were back in the hut as they were unable to handle high quality pace bowling from RP Singh and Pankaj Singh as the scorecard read 29 for 2 in 11.3 overs. Some sensible batting from Ishant Jaggi and Nishant Shetty put the innings back on track but two quick wickets by Sharma put paid to their hard work. Ajit Agarkar then wielded the long handle to good effect to push the score past the 250 run mark.

 

Air India Blue in reply got off to a flier as openers Madan and Bisla added 71 in 12.4 overs. After Bisla was dismissed Madan was joined at the crease by former Indian batsman Kaif as they added 142 in 23.5 overs to put air India on course to win.
