Summary for Day 1

 

With no overnight, or early morning rain in Liverpool, hopes were temporarily raised that play might be possible on the first day of this match against Northamptonshire. Unfortunately, just before 9am, light rain started to fall. Progressively during the next couple of hours, the rain fell heavier. The covers were completed loaded with water and the outfield looked very wet. It came as no surprise just before 2pm when play was abandoned for the day.
