Summary for Day 3

Overnight and early morning rain prevented a prompt start on the third day of this County Championship match versus Northamptonshire. Althoght the rain generally ceased between 11am and 1.45pm, occasional light rain prevented the covers from being removed. All hope of any play was finally extinguished when heavy persistent rain fell shorty after the third inspection of the day by the umpires at 1.45pm
