Note : On one occasion England also registered a win by an innings and 579 runs - The defeat was also the biggest for Bangladesh in runs margin. They had lost to Sri Lanka by 288 runs at Colombo SSC in 2002-03.
- It was the first time since 1978-79 that England, who had beaten Australia in the first Ashes Test at Sydney earlier this year, have won three consecutive Tests overseas.
- Bangladesh extended their consecutive losing record to 20 matches. They have now not won a single Test in their 26 Tests. They are now inching towards the world record of playing most matches without a win. New Zealand had played 44 Tests from 1935-36 to 1955-56 without winning once.
