GAME, William Henry.
Amateur.
Born Stoke Newington, London, 2nd October 1853.
Died at Brancaster, Norfolk, 11th August 1932.
He was educated at Sherborne, being a member of the cricket eleven which he captained in his last year. He went up to Oriel College, Oxford, was in the University cricket eleven 1873-76, captain in 1876, and in the rugby eleven 1873-74. He first turned out for Surrey at cricket at the age of seventeen and in all played in 59 first-class matches, 39 of them for Surrey. He also played for Dorset 1871-75. At the Oxford Athletic Sports he threw the cricket ball 127 yards 15 inches. He became managing director of the Corticine Floor Covering Co.Ltd., London. In 1905 he was living at Southlands, Esher, Surrey.
No trace of him could be found in the 1881 Census.
