- This was the 2000th match in One-day international history. Interestingly the first 1000 ODIs took more than 24 years, the second 1000 took less than eight years !
- The catch of Gavin Rennie was 200th dismissal for Rashid Latif in his 151st match (including 36 stumpings). He became second Pakistani after Moin Khan (257 dismissals in 182 matches) and sixth keeper overall to do so.
- This was the 21st tournament win for Pakistan (consisting of atleast three teams and excluding tournaments where two teams were declared joint winners). Only Australia (23) have won more ODI tournaments.
- Taufeeq Umar won his maiden Man of the match award.
