This is the first game of a three match series which follows the 4-0 drubbing the Proteas handed out to their visitors in the one-day international series. India did, however, win their inaugural Twenty20 clash - their sole international success thus far.

The Indians are boosted by the return of captain Rahul Dravid from a broken finger and VRV Singh is back, meaning that Irfan Pathan is the likely man to miss out.
