In their second innings Lincolnshire needed 119 runs to save the innings defeat. For the winners, Barnes took 12 wickets for 49 runs in the match, including 9 for 19 in the Lincolnshire first innings, which was statistically the second best innings bowling performance of the season. He had conceded 14 runs in the first innings before he took his second wicket. He also scored 52 with 6 fours and 1 six, while Bourne's 80 contained 8 fours.
