Staffordshire won this low-scoring match by 9 wickets at 1 pm on the second day, and secured the Minor Counties Championship title for the second time. For the winners, Barnes took 15 wickets in the match for 54 runs, including 7 for 19 in the first innings and 8 for 35 in the second. It was statistically the second best match bowling performance of the season. Barnes also top-scored in the match with 31. Three days had been set aside for the match, but newspaper reports indicate the pitch had been adversely affected by the heavy rain of the previous week. The match run aggregate of 279 was the second lowest of the season for a completed match.
