12:51 GMT: Start of play for the day
England won the toss and will bat
Hello and welcome to the live coverage of the match 28 in the 2007 Cricket World Cup where it's a bit of a local derby with England taking on their rivals and surprise Super Eights side, Ireland, in the third match of the second stage of the competition from the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
Who would have thought that Ireland would be here. Well, certainly not Pakistan that is for sure! But they are and while most pundits predict this will be the end of the road for the Blarney Army, they will want to continue to make waves and the first on their 'hitlist' is England, who they played in their first ODI game in Belfast last year.
It will be a particularly remarkable day for Ed Joyce, the Dublin-born England opening batsman, who helped Ireland qualify through the ICC Trophy in 2005 by scoring 399 runs at an average of 99.75, passing 50 in four of his five innings back in Ireland. Having got them here, he will want to knock them down!
Who will win today? England, surely. Even though Ireland beat Pakistan in the group stages, you cannot really see them winning another and England, even with Andrew Flintoff slightly off-colour with a stomach bug, should be too strong for the Irish.
The Providence Stadium in Guyana has already seen a little bit of history made with Lasith Malinga taking a hat-trick and four wickets in four balls (the first time in ODIs) in the first game two days ago. South Africa won by 1 wicket after cruising to the win over Sri Lanka before Malinga's late burst. It was quite a bow for this impressive new ground.
It will be just the second time these two sides have played in one-day internationals. They met in Ireland's first ever one-day international on quite an occasion at Stormont in Belfast where England were unconvincing 38-run winners. England posted 301-7 in their 50 overs before Ireland chased with 263-9.
The highest individual score for England v Ireland is 113 by Marcus Trescothick in that game at Belfast.
The highest individual score for Ireland v England is 52 by Andre Botha.
The best bowling performance for England v Ireland is 3-58 by Stephen Harmison.
The best bowling performance for Ireland v England is 3-63 by Dave Langford-Smith.
Local man Billy Doctrove is partnered by Australian Simon Taufel in the middle and they are joined by Daryl Harper as third and Steve Bucknor the fourth. Ranjan Madugalle is the match referee.
