Royal College, Colombo only arrived by the ship SS Orford at Fremantle on the day of the match after 10 days sea travel from Colombo. As the boat was to depart for Adelaide at 5pm, the game finished at the tea interval so the visitors could return to the port for embarkation.
This was the first ever tour to Australia by a subcontinent/asian cricket team.
