Match report day 4: Lancs v Glos in Championship 2004
by Neil Adams

Scorecard:Lancashire v Gloucestershire

Summary of day 4

Sometimes cricket players forget that they are in the entertainment industry. With nothing to play for on the final day of this match, (or should I say, nothing to lose) a crowd of less than 200 spectators were let down by Gloucestershire's somewhat gutless and negative display. Lancashire offered their visitors the option to put on a last day cricket display, only for the Gladiators captain, Chris Taylor to totally dismiss it. Talk about boring.

Once again, Keedy collected 7 wickets to finish with fourteen for the match, as Lancashire bowled out Gloucestershire for 289 in very blustery conditions. Needless to say, Lancashire were never likely to score 290 with just over 2 hours of the match remaining. However, a few butterflies did creep into the scenario when three wickets fell for just 12 runs. Thankfully, Hooper and Loye steered the ship home.
