  • This was the 2034th ODI in cricket history.
  • Charles Coventry (son of umpire C Coventry) was making his international debut. He became 74th player to represent Zimbabwe in ODIs.
  • Zimbabwe’s total (92) is their lowest against England and second lowest in all matches after the world record 38 against Sri Lanka at Colombo SSC on 08-12-2001. Incidentally Zimbabwe’s previous lowest against England was 114 at Manchester on 13-07-2000.
  • Andrew Flintoff’s allround performance (47* & 3-13) is the second best by an Englishman against Zimbabwe after Graeme Hick’s performance at Harare on 20-02-2000. Hick made 80 and took 5-33 in that match.
  • Andrew Flintoff ended the match with a top-edged six.
  • England won the match with 193 balls to spare. This is the second largest victory by a side in a fifty over game in terms of balls to spare. The record is held by West Indies who defeated Scotland at Leicester on 27-05-1999 with 239 balls still remaining to be bowled in their innings.
  • Flintoff won fifth Man of the match award of his career.
