Brief profile of Ben Wright
by Andrew Hignell

Player:BJ Wright

Ben Wright made his Glamorgan 1st XI debut against the West Indies `A` tourists in their one-day friendly in August 2006 at Ebbw Vale, and the young batsman showed great maturity and composure in his first innings which contributed to the Welsh county `s victory over the Caribbean tourists.

A product of Cowbridge CC, Ben progressed through the junior Glamorgan teams and the Glamorgan and Wales Academy to the Glamorgan 2nd XI in 2004. After some promising innings for the England Under17 team, Ben was also chosen in 2005 and 2006 in the England Under19 team, whom he also represented in the ICC Youth World Cup in February 2006 in Sri Lanka.

His forthright batting and razor-sharp fielding have impressed many judges and he is a young player to follow in the future
