Play commenced at 10.33 a.m. of the first day and the New Zealand innings was closed at 3.39 p.m. The Queensland Country innings commenced at 4.14 p.m. and stumps were drawn at 5.30 p.m. Rain interfered with the second day of play, a start not being made until 11.48 a.m., seventy five minutes late Rain again stopped play at 1.53 p.m. and afternoon tea was taken at 2.30 p.m., play being restarted at 2.53 p.m. New Zealand left the field when rain began falling at 4.45 p.m. but then came back and play continued. Play ended shortly afterwards due to poor light.
