Surrey's innings of 384 was compiled in just 66.5 overs:
there were 16 fours in Abel's 101, 1 five and 10 fours in Myers' 84, Blacklidge scored 70 not out, and Rutty 57.
Myers and Abel added 179 for Surrey's second wicket;
Blacklidge and Rutty added 91 for Surrey's eighth wicket.
Freeman took 5 wickets for 38 runs in Wiltshire's second innings; Narraway made 3 dismissals in the match and Peach took 3 catches.
For the losers Tayler made 62 and there were 17 fours in Newman's 91. In the Wiltshire first innings the Surrey wicket-keeper Sullivan was struck a nasty blow between the eyes when standing up to the stumps. He was unable to take any further part in the match and Narraway deputised for him behind the wicket. Luce acted as a substitute fielder.
