Wiltshire won this return match by 31 runs on the second day after Buckinghamshire had been set 100 to win in just over two hours. The match between the two sides at Bletchley earlier in the month had been won by Buckinghamshire. Due to rain the match did not start until 2.00 pm on the first day and another shower finished proceedings at 5 pm. For the winners Hurn made the top-score of the match on his debut with 44, whilst Mitchell took 6 wickets for 36 runs in Buckinghamshire's second innings. For the losers Frith made the highest score in both innings whilst Wright took 11 wickets in the match for 66 runs, including 5 wickets for 46 runs in Wiltshire's first innings and 6 wickets for 20 in their second. This was the first time a county match had been staged on this ground. The county officials were pleased with the total gate money for both days of £6 8s 3d. The Wiltshire Gazette shows the Wiltshire wicket-keeper as T "Smith". By reference to the Wisden averages, this is thought to be T S Luce.
