Hertfordshire won this return match by an innings and 77 runs well before lunch on the second day, the Suffolk second innings lasting for only a further hour. The match between the two sides at Bishop's Stortford at the beginning of the month had also been won by Hertfordshire. For the winners, Coleman took 10 wickets in the match for 100 runs, including 6 for 61 in the Suffolk second innings, and Burton 9 for 101 runs, including 6 for 59 in the first innings. C H Titchmarsh scored 138 not out. There were 8 fours in Golding's 80. In the Hertfordshire innings Golding and Titchmarsh added 162 runs for the second wicket. For the losers, Trudgett took 7 wickets for 87 runs in the Hertfordshire innings. In the Suffolk second innings F L Titchmarsh scored 52. When keeping wicket in the Hertfordshire innings Blount was injured and did not bat in the Suffolk second innings.
