Buckinghamshire won this return match by 5 wickets at on the second day. The match between the two sides at Slough earlier in the month had been won by Buckinghamshire. For the winners Le Gros's 66 included 1 six and 9 fours and Leat's 55 contained 8 fours. Wright took 10 wickets in the match for 103 runs including 8 for 27 in the Carmarthenshire second innings which was the best innings bowling of his Buckinghamshire career.
For Carmarthenshire Evans scored 64 which included 10 fours. Lewis and Melhuish added 54 for the last wicket in the Carmarthenshire first innings. An armed guard enabled the Buckinghamshire team to catch the last train, thereby thwarting strikers. That night two strikers were shot dead by troops. Then a shed was set on fire and an ammunition train blew up killing about 18 people.
