Berkshire won this match by nine wickets on the second day. For the winners, Hawksworth took 15 wickets in the match for 105 runs, including 9 wickets for 63 in the Wiltshire second innings. It was statistically the best match bowling performance of the season. At one stage in the second innings, he had taken six wickets for 8 runs before Pugh upset his figures. Belcher scored 112, with the last 66 runs scored in 22 minutes. Woodburn scored 63 and Bennett 50 not out. For the losers, A W Newman scored 105 and Pugh 75 not out.
